Mountain creek recently announced their plans for converting South into an all mountain freestyle resort… ala Bear Mountain in SoCal.  This would make South the largest terrain park on the East Coast. 

This has some interesting potential…  MC has been on the cutting edge of park progression for the last few season with the addition of JibLab, their inhouse feature fabrication shop.  So we can certainly expect a variety of features made in all manner of material, snow, wood, metal, plastic…

Their challenges have always been lack of natural snow, abundance of ice and a relatively short operating season.  I’ll be curious to see how this elevates MC’s status in the EC riding destination category.  At the very least it should offer some interesting mid-week riding potential for us local shreds (you couldn’t pay me to touch this place on a weekend).
