Meltdown at Seven Springs
What happens when you have an 18ft superpipe at the end of April??? You plow it down and throw the most funnest (yah, I aced grammer class) contest the East Coast has ever seen. For the second year in a row the Mash Potato Meltdown went down at Seven Springs Mountain Resort in PA and was a complete success!
At 9am the course was cut, hot dogs were on the grill, and the park crew was ready for a ridiculously dope day. Riders came early and were psyched on the setup which consisted of an 18ft quarterpipe, super fun table top with channel gap, and a fistful of jibs. With DJ Nugget destroying the turntables and riders from all over the East Coast we knew some slaying was about to go down!
The event was all about giving back to the kids who’ve enjoyed our terrain parks while having fun and getting free stuff for it! The three judges, Joel Rerko (park builder extraordinar), Jordan Soohy, and Sam Spurling had their fists full of $20s and product to dish out to shredaholics and there wasn’t one kid who walked away without something. Even the spectators were walking away with stickers, posters, and other gear. At the end of the day everyone was stoked, a little sunburned, and ready for the 08/09 season to peek it’s pretty head around the corner.

Nice place to have fun and great pictures too!
You got to love the end of the season. Most people complain b/c of lack of snow, but that is what you get on the east coast. I love it b/c only the die hards show up. If you have not been to 7 springs at the begining or end of the season I recommend you check it out. Great times. Thanks for the post.
