The first stop on the Winter Dew Tour took place in Breckenridge, Colorado this weekend.  Wind, snow, speed issues  and a questionable pipe conspired against the competitors, but in the end Breck put on one hell of snowboarding party.

In somewhat of a shocking victory of creativity over consistency, Danny Davis beat out Golden Boy, Shaun White to hold onto the top spot in Men’s Superpipe.  White was looking to add another gold to his resume after taking home gold in Men’s Slopestyle the day previous.  After qualifying first and an uncharacteristic spill in his first of two final runs, White’s hopes came down to his last run, which he stuck (this kid has snow in his veins I’m convinced), but in the end the judges gave it to Davis and his creative mix of tricks.

In women’s pipe, it was Gretchen Bleiler taking home the top spot with vermont local, Kelly Clark coming in second with runs that blurred the lines of amplitude between women’s and men’s riding.  Top Honors in Women’s Slopestyle went to Spencer O’Brien.
